#1 “Fear to overcome”

I found an interesting feature of wordpress that help you to get some ideas to write, and it’s kinda challenge me to write about those stuffs.

Fear!

Based on David R. Saliba,  A Psychology of Fear: The Nightmare Formula of Edgar Allan Poe book, Fear is the emotional response to the perception of an alternating loss of control and regaining of control.  [Lantham, MD: University Press of America, 1980].

In this site, Fear described as one of the primary emotions, together with joy, anger, and grief. And accompanied by a series of physiological changes produced by the autonomic nervous system and adrenal glands, including increased heart rate, rapid breathing, tenseness or trembling of muscles, increased sweating, and dryness of the mouth.

While stated in Wikipedia, fear is a distressing negative sensation induced by a perceived threat. It is a basic survival mechanism occurring in response to a specific stimulus, such as pain or the threat of danger. In short, fear is the ability to recognize danger leading to an urge to confront it or flee from it (also known as the Fight or Flight response) but in extreme cases of fear (terror) a freeze or paralysis response is possible.

From all the descriptions above, i will use the term Fear for its psychological meaning. Fear that I need to fight now is my fear of failing.

Yes. I fear to fail so that i never truly make efforts to done something that i really need to conquer my future.

I have a big plan for my future but i’m afraid to make a move because i’m afraid of failing. I need to overcome this as soon as possible, because that something I have to done for my plan, it’s better to start soon due to the very short deadline.

I am now organizing my plan, making a to do list, and start to done “small thing first” and i found those things very useful to overcome my fear of failing. Those actions is making me so busy that i barely have time to feel the fear anymore, but I’m still working on it.
